An upload or generated command fails
Separate image problems, generation queues, and server command failures.
SkinsRestorer 15.12.6All platformsReviewed
The website generates a command. Your server then runs that command. Identify which stage fails before you retry.
The website rejects the file
Use a standard PNG skin template. The website's file limit is 5 MB. A screenshot, JPEG, or HD image is not a standard skin template.
If the preview shows arm gaps, switch between classic and slim. Read the model guide.
Generation fails or waits
- Read the error shown on the page.
- Wait for an active queue job to finish.
- Check your API key if the error concerns authorization.
- Check the available cape list if the error concerns cape access.
A selected cape in Axolotl mode uses the proxy route. Plain uploads and Official mode use MineSkin directly. These paths can fail independently.
Do not repeatedly submit the same file while a job is pending.
The generated command fails
Keep the URL quoted and the generated model value intact. An opaque skinsrestorer-axolotl:// result is valid command input, rather than a browser link. Run a /skin url result in game chat for your own player.
A /sr createcustom result needs administrative access on the server or proxy that owns storage. It creates a named skin, rather than selecting it for a player.
Inspect skinsrestorer.command.set.url and URL restrictions. If generation succeeded but the server cannot load the result, inspect service connections.
Report a problem
Include the stage, error text, model, whether you selected a cape, and whether you used an API key. Do not include the key itself.
Use support diagnostics for a server-side error.
